MOVE-A-THON
Can I/supporters give via cash or check? Yes! Please make all checks payable to Read Academy PTO, with Move-a-Thon in the memo line. These can be dropped off at the reception desk, ATTN: PTO. We cannot accept cash. You can also use our Venmo or Zelle just remember to note the child/children you are supporting in the Memo line.
Are donations tax-deductible? Yes! You will receive a receipt from Read Academy PTO if you drop off a check. If you make a gift online via Venmo, that will serve as your tax receipt. Tax ID: 92-3876998, and Legal Name: Read Academy PTO
Why did the name change from Run/Walk-a-Thon? Read Academy wants to be as inclusive as possible. Recognizing that running may not be an option for everyone. We feel the new name enables everyone to participate, regardless of ability.
Where do the funds from the Move-a-Thon go? All funds raised by the Move-a-Thon go towards the general PTO budget for school events, enrichment and 25% of the proceeds automatically go to our Scholarship fund.
How do I register for the Move-a-Thon? This year, you do not need to register your student for the Move-A-Thon. Simply scan our Venmo QR code or Zelle QR code. REMEMBER to put your student's name in the Memo Line.
Why does RA have a Move-a-Thon? Fundraising is an integral part of ensuring a healthy operating budget for the PTO. The Move-a-Thon provides crucial funds to support PTO events, scholarships, and special programs or speakers, in a way that is fun, inclusive, and utilizes peer-to-peer fundraising to extend the circle of supporters.

Can parents attend the Move-a-Thon? The Move-A-Thon is intended to be a fun team-building exercise between teachers and students. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend. It is also open to parents who want to volunteer to help with Move Stations or just come to cheer on our students!
